The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is
pleased to welcome two great women of rock & roll with Lesley Gore and
Ronnie Spector.
Lesley Gore is perhaps best known for her 1963 pop
hit, "It's My Party", which she recorded at the age of 16. which was
followed by many others, including The Look Of Love", "Judy's Turn to Cry”,
and "You Don't Own Me". In 2005, she recorded her first album of new
material since 1976, the critically acclaimed Ever Since, which landed songs
on CSI: Miami and Showtime's The L Word.
Ronnie Spector is one of only a few artists in
history capable of defining an entire era in pop music: the embodiment of
the heart, soul, and passion of female rock and roll in the 1960s. To this
day, no one has ever surpassed Ronnie's powerful trademark vocals that took
The Ronnettes to huge success with "Be My Baby", "Baby I Love You", and
"Walking in the Rain". Ronnie’s new CD, Last of the Rock Stars, includes
special guests Dennis Diken (the Smithereens), Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs),
Patti Smith, and the one and only Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.
