The second PATCHOGUE FOLK FESTIVAL featuring JUDY
COLLINS, SUSAN WERNER and JOHN GORKA live on the Main Stage at 7:00 PM and
Caroline Doctorow, Johnnie Lee Jordan, Claudia Jacobs, James O'Malley, Hank
Stone, Nina Et Cetera, Jay Scott, Johnny Cuomo, and Miles To Dayton in a free special edition of Live in
the Lobby at 12 noon.
Judy Collins has thrilled audiences worldwide for
over 40 years with her unique blend of interpretative folksongs and
contemporary themes and she continues to create music of hope and healing
that lights up the world and speaks to the heart. She is well known for her
renditions of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" and "Send in the Clowns," by
Stephen Sondheim in addition to her own compositions such as her recent
release "Wings of Angels," the heartbreaking ballad that she wrote about the
loss of her son.
Susan Werner has cultivated a reputation as a daring
and innovative songwriter with a killer live show. She boldly endeavors to
weave old with new to create altogether new genres of music when existing
ones do not suit her muse, and she regularly keeps audiences guessing and
laughing simultaneously. Most of her work infuses traditional music styles
and methods with her unmistakable contemporary worldview, constantly
challenging listeners to experience music from a fresh and unexpected
perspective.
John Gorka is honored to be a part of the folk
tradition — energetic acoustic music that is not a trend, not a fad, but an
expression of everyday life. His rich baritone voice and unique songcraft
weave together in a way that can only be described as “Gorka.”
Spend the day in Patchogue! Join us at noon for a
free a special edition of LIVE IN THE LOBBY, our monthly concert series
featuring Long Island performers in a wide variety of musical genres.
Caroline Doctorow returns to the Lobby as the featured performer for this
special free concert. Caroline has released six recordings on Narrow Lane
Records including her latest, Another Country. Her father is renowned author
E.L. Doctorow and both her parents played folk music as a hobby when she was
a child. Caroline quickly became enamored of the folk stars that she met
through her parents, such as Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, Joan Baez and Mimi
Fariña. Caroline will be joined by Johnnie Lee Jordan, Claudia Jacobs, James
O'Malley, Hank Stone, Nina Et Cetera, Jay Scott, Johnny Cuomo, and Miles To
Dayton, NINE terrific Long island Long Island singer- songwriters in an
intimate concert in the lobby.
