April 8—THE MICHAEL JAZZ TRIO

Paradiddle Records presents The Michael Jazz Trio and more. The Michael Jazz Trio consists of three brothers — 15-year-old Matthew on keyboard, 13-year-old David on alto and tenor sax, and 8-year-old Jordan on drums. The three were born and raised in Central Islip and according to their parents were musically inclined at a young age. Inspired by music legends like the late John Coltrane and Duke Ellington, the boys perform their own compositions and classic jazz and continue to fine-tune their talent while maintaining academic excellence. Their first album is being recorded and produced by Paradiddle Records of Huntington. Special guests to be announced.

May 6—NEW YORK FUNK EXCHANGE with special guest CLAUDIA JACOBS

NYFE brings their big band sound to the lobby with a unique sound that combines the roots of funk, soul, rhythm and blues and jazz, along with their own, one-of-a-kind arrangements and dynamic rhythms. The band describes their music as a throwback to early '70s soul-funk music like James Brown. NYFE features several members of Dynamic Stew, who were a big hit in 2006 at Live In the Lobby and the first Patchogue Jam in 2007 Combining the talents of Serena Fortier (vocals), Ray Holman (drums/vocals), Matt Fox (bass guitar), Jamey Zebrack (keys/vocals), Matty G (guitar), Mozard Pierre-Jacques (Trombone), Mike Farrell (Sax) and Nick Martino (trumpet), this band formed in 2007 and has since performed original music throughout the northeast. Each member is a master at his respective instrument, but all possess the virtue of harmony when playing together. Each member of the NYFE has a deep respect and enthusiasm for music and its ongoing creative process. The band just finished their debut album, "Funkonomic Stimulus Plan," which will be available at the show and on iTunes. For more information on, visit www.nyfunkexchange.com. We happily welcome back Claudia Jacobs and her group to open the show. Her terrific voice and great songs merge folk, rock, blues, funk and country and her set will kick off the night in grand style. June 10—SEASON FINALE—AN EVENING WITH MILES TO DAYTON

With a well-crafted mix of folk, rock, classical and funk, this Long Island based ensemble brings an honest message of love, life and laughter to each performance. The M2D recipe is simple: four-part vocal harmony textures, solid songwriting, improvisational violin and cello, and an infectious rhythm section that stirs up the creative stew. The family chemistry adds to the onstage fun, while the unique instrumentation truly delivers an eclectic sound portrait, with a comfortable, down-home vibe in all of the songs and presentation. Miles to Dayton will leave a lasting impression on your ears, relying on quality musicianship and a melody that will carry you back to the next show.

The band features the talents of vocalist Krista (March) Preddice, often compared to the likes of Natalie Merchant and Dolores O'Riordan. Accomplished songwriter Jonathan Preddice also shares lead vocal duty, and plays guitar and cello in the band. Dave March adds to the package by delivering pocket bass lines and heartfelt vocals. Violinist Leanne (Preddice) Strom wields her violin with extreme presence and maturity, using her classical upbringing to add many interesting colors and textures to the m2d ensemble. Newcomer drummer Brian Kroll has only elevated this family band to new heights, providing an exciting and funky edge to the overall sound, while lifting the songs up on a pedestal for all to enjoy. With the successful release of two independent full length albums in the past five years, "A long way back" (2005) and "Rise" (2007), Miles to Dayton has developed a strong regional following. With a newly bolstered lineup, the band has set it sights on releasing a third album in 2010 that will promises to be it's finest work to date.
